Boyfri.....Fiance.

I have been engaged for 46 days and I am still getting the hang of this whole "fiance" thing. Maybe he is having an easier time with it than me. I am not sure.

Today in my Food and Society class, I actually said "fiance" instead of "boyfriend" and I about freaked out. No studder, no stammer, no hesitation. It was said.

People laughed, actually. It may have been the content of my comment, but it may have been the term I used to describe him.

We were discussing whether food preparation changed from dating to marriage. I, of course, had to give my two cents. People were giving really funny answers (not haha funny but funny in the sense of what they were saying.)

"I have been dating my boyfriend for just about a year, so I know everything about him."

"She and I have been together for about 6 months now, which is a long time. I know what she likes to eat and if she doesn't like something, she has the nerve to tell me."

Bahahahaha. I would have told Kody on day 1 if I hated something he made for me. Straight up. I didn't care about getting the nerve to speak my mind.

Mine went something like this:

"I have been dating my fiance for about two and a half years now and it isn't me trying to figure out what he likes anymore. It is more of 'did he even eat today?' He has a habit of either forgetting to eat or just not eating. Sometimes he comes over to my apartment and I notice he is withering away, so I will ask him the last time he ate. If it was a long time ago, I find something basic (because that is pretty much all he eats) and feed him. Earlier in the relationship you have to worry about what they like, but later on, you worry for them instead."

People wouldn't stop staring at me after that statement. Is it because I am talking about something more adult? Is it because I am engaged? I have no idea. I never fail to bring attention to myself.
