Ex Ames Virgin

I am doing surprisingly well for getting up at 6am this morning. I know it isn't that early, but when I am used to 7:30 or later, it was difficult on me. I ended up working out at Ames for my remote today at work and it was AWESOME.

It was a a Mary Greeley run and festival where Lite 104.1 was co-hosting the day's activities. By the time I arrived, the run was over and I saw some really thin runners. It was impressive how good of shape some of the people were in. In other regards, it was also nasty. I cannot believe that some people have lives outside of running by the way they look. I never want to be that way.

After the runs and awards was some entertainment on stage. It began with a trumpet group of like 5 people. I didn't like it AT ALL, but they were (probably) good. I am just not into that sort of music so I didn't pay much attention. It was slightly dull.

Then, a local dance academy performed many numbers. It was mostly comprised of girls, but there was a random boy thrown in here and there. They were never smiling, so I assume the boys hated being there. There was ballet, hip hop, interpretive, river dancing, and clogging. I fell in love with the river dancing and clogging. I am a sucker for that.

Then, there was a drumline. You read correctly: a drumline. I believe it was an all boys school from a nearby town and it was AMAZING. They really knew how to work the audience as well. I wanna play the drums. Too bad I can't keep a beat.

Because of this remote, I have decided several things:
  1. I want to learn to play the drums
  2. I want to take up clogging
  3. I want to force my future daughter to try out dancing
  4. I want to force my future son to try out drumming
  5. I love apples
  6. cameras without memory cards suck at taking an abundance of pictures
  7. some runners are TOO in shape
I can't believe I got paid for what I did today. Seriously. There are times I absolutely love my job.
