My 11am Consumer Behavior class was cancelled today so I decided to go on a run in this beautiful weather during my 9:15 to 12:30 break. BAD IDEA.
It is such a nice day today. I charged my iPod, made a nice playlist to run to, stretched, and got ready to go. I set my iPod to my usual 600 calorie burn, which is about 5.25 miles. That was an easy day for me last summer. So, I thought it would be manageable for me today. WRONG.
I can safely say I stopped to walk just about every half mile and even that was pushing it. I am so stiff and tired everywhere and all I want is a nap. Needless to say, I only made it 3.86 miles and at about a 12-minute-mile pace.
Just a word of advice to people trying to get into running again this season:
Do NOT start at your old distance and pace if you haven't run in about 5 months. It will all but kill you. I have a picture to prove it.
I know, I look pretty sexy. It is hard to believe but this is not Photoshopped or edited in any way. I do look that good normally.
"My milkshake brings all the boys...." okay nevermind.
I look like death. I know. This was about 3 minutes after my run. I should have at least smiled so it doesn't look like a mugshot.
